OKLAHOMA CITY — Sonic Drive-In’s sensational selection of slushes is receiving a serious upgrade with two new Hawaiian flavors to help cool off customers during the torrid summer months. Beginning Monday, June 26, Sonic will start serving a pair of Aloha Slushes nationwide: the Polynesian Punch Slush and a Tropical Colada Slush.

“We opened the first SONIC in Hawai’i in February,” Vice President of Culinary & Menu Innovation at SONIC, Mackenzie Gibson, said in an interview with Business Wire. “And now we are offering guests across the country the feeling of being on a Hawaiian vacation with the tastes of tropical paradise. Our vibrant Aloha Slushes are a burst of island flavors that will transport you to sandy beaches, swaying palm trees and sparkling ocean waves, even if it’s just for a moment!”

The Aloha Slushes are priced at $2.19 for a medium, but both are available in sizes mini through Route 44. And don’t forget that all drinks are half price from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. during Sonic’s daily Happy Hour.

However, if your taste buds just can’t wait to try these new frozen drinks, at the discounted rate, Sonic is currently offering a special Happy Hour offer accessible only through the restaurant’s app. “Happy Hour Any time: Get 1/2 price Drinks and Slushes every time you order in the SONIC App,” (per Sonic Drive-In). “Includes Soft Drinks, Iced Teas, Lemonades and Limeades, Ocean Water® and Slushes. The Polynesian Punch Slush is a fruit punch that finds its influence from the tropical wonder of the Hawaiian islands. Meanwhile, the Tropical Colada Slush mixes the flavors of pineapple, coconut, and banana together to quench customers' thirsts over the long, hot summertime.
